Lightweight, strong easy-to-install fiberglass water features
South Africa pioneered the use of synthetic fiberglass resins to make garden water features. It all started to get very interesting when the construction of Sun City began some time in the mid seventies (ie 1970's). Most people have heard of Sun City and much of its landscaping was created around gigantic fibre cement rocks. Such rocks were made in situ and whilst they were lighter and more easily sculpted than real rocks they remained very heavy.
